I’ve been writing since before I could read—copying letters with a bold red crayon (much to my parents’ dismay) onto the pages of their prized books. My boundless curiosity and confidence in making a mark still drive me as I develop stories and bring ambitious projects to life.
Based in New York City and Yucca Valley, California, I bring a distinctive perspective to every project. I am fueled by the city’s creative energy and the desert’s deep stillness, which inform how I approach storytelling and collaboration.
I see both the forest and the Joshua trees, following intricate patterns within complex ideas while keeping perspective on their broader significance. In navigating subway commutes and desert vistas, I’ve learned to balance focused precision with expansive vision. My creative process alternates between NYC’s can-do ethos and the desert's boundless thinking, helping clients find the sweet spot where discipline meets discovery.
I’ve been immersed in traditional publishing since 2004, starting as a proofreader and copyeditor and expanding into developmental editing, project management, coaching, and ghostwriting. This “soup-to-nuts” experience has taught me to work nimbly at any stage of a client’s project and earned me the nickname “Queen of Everything.”
My experience has honed my superpowers, which include developing a book from nothing more than a gleam in an author’s or editor’s eye, spinning an entire chapter from a single sentence, and guiding authors—both new and seasoned—in getting even Moby-Dick-length manuscripts across the finish line.
My earlier detour into fine art at Rhode Island School of Design taught me to compose a “whole” from interrelated parts—an invaluable skill for crafting narratives from diverse elements. This background gives me a unique lens for structuring complex stories and weaving together multiple perspectives.
Like my workouts in the boxing ring with trusted sparring partners, I believe in close, focused collaborations in the service of your voice and mission. I approach each project with tactical precision and long-range strategy, helping you anticipate challenges and capitalize on your strengths.
When I am working with creatives, leaders, and organizations to make their dreams happen, I think back to my twelve-year-old self, happiest when reading and writing, and realize I can’t imagine doing anything else.
